‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey’: Samuel L. Jackson Transforms in Apple TV+ Trailer (VIDEO)
During Apple TV+‘s Winter TCA 2022 presentation, the streamer unveiled its first full trailer for The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, starring Samuel L. Jackson.
Set to premiere with the first two episodes of a six-episode season on Friday, March 11, the series is based on the best-selling novel by Walter Mosely who adapted the story for the screen. The project from Apple Studios follows Jackson’s character Ptolemy Grey, an ailing man who has been forgotten by his family, friends, and even by himself.
A moving series, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey focuses on family, memory, and legacy which are impacted when Ptolemy is left without his trusted caretaker. As he sinks into a deeper and lonelier state of dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of an orphaned teenager named Robyn (Dominique Fishback).
As the pair begin to bond, they learn that there’s a new treatment that can temporarily restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories and it begins an adventure that leads to shocking truths about the past, present, and future, as teased in the trailer, below.
Joining Jackson and Fishback in the series are costars Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Walton Goggins, and Omar Millar. The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is executive produced by Samuel L. Jackson, Walter Mosley, Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden, David Levine, and LaTanya Richardson.
