Killjoys, that delirious mix of intergalactic action, terror and smart-ass comedy, heads into Season 2 with bounty hunters Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen) and Johnny (Aaron Ashmore, far left, with John-Kamen) failing miserably to save the third member of their team, Johnny’s brother, D’avin (Luke Macfarlane).

He’s being held prisoner and pumped full of green plasma on Arkyn, a top-secret moon protected by a powerful defense shield. “Dutch and Johnny need specialized tech to penetrate Arkyn,” says creator Michelle Lovretta, “and that means going undercover in a dangerous, outlaws-only town known as Eulogy.”

The first hour ends with a whopper shock about Dutch’s past. But what about her future? Last season, she and D’avin gave in to their long-simmering sexual tension. Now, while captured, he’s having lushly romantic dreams about her.

Will he make a move for Dutch once he’s saved? If so, Johnny won’t be the third wheel in this scenario. “That would be so gross and predictable,” Lovretta says. “Johnny is his own man. He gets plenty of lady action. Why should he become some neutered weirdo just because Dutch and D’avin get it on?”
