What’s Worth Watching: The Goldbergs Would Prefer It If You Didn’t Back-seat Drive

Going to the mall while accompanied by your mother is mortifying for every teen, regardless of the decade in which the trip takes place. So it’s understandable that on the drive home from one such outing, Barry (Troy Gentile) and Erica (Hayley Orrantia) are a little on edge and what should have been a rather small fight with mom Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) turns into a blowout that ends with Beverly stranded on the side of the road. That certainly won’t come back to bite Barry and Erica. Nope, definitely not.
