A successful businessman and entrepreneur from McKinney, TX, Sean Lowe was a favorite to win the heart of Emily Maynard on "The Bachelorette" (ABC, 2003- ), only to suffer reality series heartbreak when she made him the last eligible bachelor eliminated in 2012. The life-long Texan hailed from a close-knit family and attended Kansas State on a full football scholarship, where he played linebacker and helped the Wildcats win a Big 12 Conference championship. Graduating with a bachelor's in social science, Lowe went into finance after college, but later followed his father's footsteps into the insurance industry before finding his path as the owner-operator of an upscale custom furniture business. In 2012, he was one of 25 bachelors vying for North Carolina native Emily Maynard and quickly became a fan favorite after a prank where Lowe convinced her that he still lived with his parents. Lowe made it all the way to the next-to-last week and wound up finishing in third place over all. Because he was an audience favorite, Lowe was brought back in 2013 as "The Bachelor" (ABC, 2002- ), where 26 eligible bachelorettes vied for his attention. That same year, he was announced as one of the contestants on the 16th season of the long-running "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ).
