Personality

A pivotal figure not only for his popularity on screen but for his historic significance as the first gay Iranian man to earn a prominent place in pop culture, Reza Farahan was born in Tehran in 1973. After relocating to the United States with his family, Farahan graduated from Beverly Hills High School, and later attended San Francisco State University. He eventually began working in the highly competitive California real estate market and noticed he had an undeniable gift for selling property. He would become a well-known figure in Los Angeles, beloved both for his ability to buy and sell and for his trademark luxurious mustache. Farahan's notoriety made him an ideal candidate when Bravo! began casting for a reality series about the tight knit Persian American community in L.A. After joining the cast of "Shahs of Sunset" (Bravo! 2012-), Farahan became not just a popular reality TV star, but an important source of representation for Persian members of the LGBTQ community. Farahan would parlay his success on the series into a memorable cameo in the movie "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" (2015), and he later went on to co-host the competitive reality series "Yours, Mine, or Ours" (Bravo!, 2015-).
