Patricia Belcher

A lifelong character actress often portraying grumpy or jaded administrators, Patricia Belcher has acted in over 100 television shows and films. Hailing from Montana, Belcher got her big-screen start in the cult sci-fi film "Flatliners" in 1990, followed by a guest spot on "Beverly Hills, 90210" at the end of the next year.

Belcher spent the '90s with guest appearances on several high-profile shows, including "Seinfeld," "NYPD Blue," and "ER," coupled with a few film credits, notably as an I.N.S. agent in the Harrison Ford thriller "Clear and Present Danger." In 1998 she caught on with comedian D.L. Hughley on the latter's eponymous sitcom, "The Hughleys," followed shortly thereafter by a stint on SNL alum Norm MacDonald's sitcom, "Norm," appearing as a gruff landlady.

In a departure from her typical role as disgruntled paper-pusher, Belcher appeared in the 2001 horror film "Jeepers Creepers" as a mysterious clairvoyant with detailed knowledge of the film's supernatural antagonist. Despite this foray outside of her comfort zone, Belcher continued taking roles as sardonic receptionists, no-nonsense judges, and impatient bureaucrats into the 2000s, most notably in a large recurring role on the forensic crime series "Bones" as a lawyer.

In 2009, Belcher appeared in a small supporting role in the indie hit "(500) Days of Summer" alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Her signature roles play well in both comedy and drama, and Belcher has capitalized by appearing in shows as raunchily absurd as "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and more serious crime mysteries like "Cold Case."
