Bella Hadid, born October 9, 1996, was a model native to Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and model Yolanda Hadid; her siblings, Gigi and Anwar, were also models. As a teenager, Hadid was an equestrian player, and dreamed of participating in the 2016 Olympics. However, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2013, which wasn't revealed until 2015, and decided not to pursue training. Both her brother and mother also had Lyme disease. She began modeling at age 16 for Flynn Skye, and continued to appear in various commercials and campaigns throughout 2013. Hadid was arrested and charged with a DUI in July 2014, and was ordered to perform 25 hours of community service and 20 hours of Alcoholics Anonymous. She began attending Parsons School of Design in 2014, studying photography, but left shortly after signing to IMG Models in August 2014 and seeing her modeling career take off. Hadid expressed interest in studying fashion photography, writing, and acting further after her modeling career. She quickly made her New York Fashion Week debut in fall 2014, walking for Desigual, and made her cover appearance for Jalouse Magazine as well. She appeared on and in various magazines, numerous fashion shows, and many ad campaigns for beauty and fashion projects. Hadid starting dating singer The Weeknd in early 2015, and appeared in a pair of his music videos, "In the Night" and "Might Not." In 2016, Hadid became the Dior Makeup ambassador, and won Model of the Year from both the Fashion Los Angeles Awards and GQ Men of the Year Awards.
