Just when you thought Black Jack was the worst villain you’d ever seen on TV, enter Mr. Bonnet. The smooth-talking criminal is remorseless and changes Jamie and Claire’s lives forever.
You’ve previously seen Speleers on Downton Abbey.
Aunt Jocasta
Played by: Maria Doyle Kennedy
Jamie’s aunt who owns a plantation called River Run. She and Claire butt heads over the use of slaves on her property. She’s very cunning and knows how to manipulate people.
You’ve previously seen her on Downton Abbey, The Tudors, and Orphan Black.
Adawehi
Played by: Tantoo Cardinal
Adawehi is a Cherokee healing woman who becomes a friend of Claire’s.
You’ve previously seen her on Godless and Westworld.
Phaedre
Played by:Les Misérables.
Governor William Tryon
Played by: Tim Downie
Gov. Tryon is based on a real person, the actual governor of North Carolina in 1767. He makes the Frasers a land offer in exchange for loyalty to the crown.
He’s previously starred in the BBC series The Royal Bodyguard and used to appear in commercials for Tennents Lager with Sam Heughan!
Ulysses (left)
Played by: Colin McFarlane
Ulysses is the head of the household at Aunt Jocasta’s plantation, River Run. He acts as Jocasta’s eyes around the property and is described at capable, smart, and kind.
He played Police commissioner Gillian B. Loeb in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Rollo
Played by: Dewey
Young Ian (John Bell) wins Rollo, a wolf-dog hybrid, while gambling, and the dog immediately becomes part of the Fraser clan.
Lizzie Wemyss (left)
Played by: Caitlin O’Ryan
Lizzie is a Scottish woman who becomes friends with Brianna.
This is her professional debut!
Gerald Forbes
Played by: Billy Boyd
Forbes is a lawyer and close friend of Aunt Jocasta.
Boyd played Peregrin ‘Pippin’ Took in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings.
Gayle
Played by: Simona Brown
Gayle is Brianna’s friend and roommate at MIT.
She played Grace on The Night Manager.
John Quincy Meyers
Played by: Kyle Rees
Meyers is a “mountain man” and a friend of Aunt Jocasta’s. He’s a mentor to Young Ian and has had many encounters with the Native American people.
He had a role on Kurt Sutter’s short lived medieval drama series The Bastard Executioner.
The Frasers have crossed the pond.
During Outlander‘s upcoming fourth season, they’re beginning their lives as homesteaders in colonial North Carolina, which means encountering a few new faces.
Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) have a new villain to battle in Stephen Bonnet, will create friendships with the indigenous people, and find themselves butting heads with a governor who may cause them to choose between the Crown and freedom.
