Did you know that Sam Heughan and former onscreen uncle Graham McTavish are besties in real life? Not only that, they went on the road together and then wrote a just-released book about their adventures called Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other. As for Outlander, during a recent Twitter Q&A timed to the book release, Heughan teased that he’s been reading scripts for Season 6 in his free time.
Men in Kilts: A Road Trip with Sam and Graham
Heughan and McTavish are also busy promoting their upcoming Starz docuseries, Men in Kilts, about Scotland. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but a trailer has already been released.
Boozy Delights
Outlander‘s leading couple are dabbling in alcoholic spirits, with Heughan launching Sassenach Spirits back in March, and Caitriona Balfe launching Forget Me Not gin this past summer. Funds raised by Balfe’s gin line goes towards supporting arts programs from around the world.
She's a Rec' Podcast with Lauren Lyle
Lauren Lyle, who plays a fierce Marsali in the series, now has her own podcast, She’s a Rec, which started up in the spring. It features interviews with women in film, music, movies, and more. Season 1 includes an interview with Caitriona Balfe.
A Discovery of Witches, Season 2
While fans haven’t seen Steven Cree’s Ian Murray on Outlander since Season 4, they can catch up with the actor in Season 2 of A Discovery of Witches early next year. The actor plays a key role in the series starring Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode as witch Diana and vampire Matthew who face a slew of challenges after falling in love. Cree will appear as Gallowglass when Season 2 debuts in the U.S. on January 9, 2021.
