‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’: Ellen Falls Under Beltane’s Romantic Spell in First Look (VIDEO)

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is in for some excitement as Ellen (Harriet Slater), Brian (Jamie Roy), Murtagh (Rory Alexander), Jocasta (Sadhbh Malin), and more head to Beltane in the show’s latest episode, “Needfire.”

The festival, which celebrates the coming of summer, is also known as an event where sins are burned away by the needfire, which breeds some risqué behavior — at least, that’s what Jocasta implies to her sister Ellen in an exclusive clip from the episode above. “Perhaps you could offer me your wise counsel. Help keep Malcolm Grant satisfied as a wife,” Ellen says as she rides alongside Jocasta in a carriage on the way to Beltane.

“Well, when I was betrothed, I was nae such an old maid as you, but John’s expectations were clear enough. I was to be doting and obedient, his silent prize to be admired and not touched,” Jocasta reveals to Ellen.

“If that’s what Malcolm Grant expects from me, then I’m certain to be a disappointment,” Ellen responds, implying she doesn’t intend to be ignored and untouched.

“Then again, I saw the way he moved after you at the gathering,” Jocasta points out, adding, “perhaps he intends to ravish you after all.”

Ellen chides Jocasta for the suggestion, but if any of the photos of Ellen and Brian are any indication, she’s not fearful of being ravished by the right man. As Jocasta puts it, “Maidens often lose their innocence at Beltane when our sins are burned away, cleansed by the needfire.”

As mentioned, Ellen and Brian do appear to get quite close in the images above, hinting that she might take her sister’s words to heart, just not with Malcolm Grant (Jhon Lumsden), the man she is betrothed to. Only time will tell for certain, though.
