Nicholas Galitzine is Such a Doll — Literally — in Mattel’s New ‘Masters of the Universe’ Toy Line!
Get ready to buy the power of Greyskull!
We’ve all seen the shots of Nicholas Galitzine‘s transformation from Red, White & Royal Blue twunk to straight-up Prince Adam from Eternia hunk, we’ve seen the posters, we’ve even seen the teaser trailers. Now, thanks to the folks at Mattel, we now have a look at the action figures based on the upcoming Masters of the Universe feature film.
Set to storm theaters this June 5th, the highly anticipated live-action feature stars Galitzine as the sword-wielding, creatine-pumped He-Man, along with a slew of TV favorites getting their fantasy on. In addition to Riverdale alum Camila Mendes as Teela and Sheriff Country‘s Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, there’s also Hijack badass Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms and Alison Brie of Glow and Community as Evil-Lyn. Jared Leto, hopefully making up for Tron: Ares, is set to let loose as Skeletor.
Just this week, Mattel unveiled their new line of action figures based on the Travis Knight-directed movie and we gotta say, they are epic. According to the specs, the screen-accurate items have multiple points of articulation and were “created at 1:12 scale. Featuring authentic character likenesses, the assortment marks the launch of a new collectibles lineup debuting alongside the film. Designed with collectors in mind, each figure includes a signature character accessory and premium packaging, making the line a standout tribute to the film’s bold, modern vision.”
The collection is due sometime this Spring, and each figure will retail for $24.99 except for Battle Cat, which goes for $39.99.
There is also a second line being revealed at the New York Toy Fair this month that features action figures at a 5.5-inch scale with 14 points of articulation, action moves and a film-inspired accessory. These are more reminiscent of the classic 1980s Mattel line. The collection, which ranges in prices from $10.79 RSP to $21.59 for Battle Cat, also includes a Roton Assault Vehicle, a Skeletor talking mask that delivers six lines from the movie (plus four different laughs!) and a Power of Greyskull power Sword.
So are you clearing space on your shelves for He-Man & Co.?
