‘From Scratch’ Trailer: Zoe Saldaña Finds Love Overseas in Netflix Limited Series (VIDEO)
Netflix has released the official trailer for From Scratch, an upcoming limited series starring Zoe Saldaña, inspired by Eureka actress Tembi Locke’s bestselling memoir of her culturally diverse relationship with her late husband, Saro.
In the footage above, American student Amahle “Amy” Wheeler (Saldaña) and Sicilian chef Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea) bump into each other during the former’s abroad trip in Italy. The two get swept up in a romance and fall in love, then soon encounter many unforeseen challenges once their two cultures collide. It appears a lot of laughs and humor will be on display during the eight-episode series, as well as a lot challenges, including unfortunate health issues that plague the new family’s future.

Based on Locke’s New York Times best-selling memoir, From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home, the show co-stars Danielle Deadwyler, Keith David, Judith Scott, Kellita Smith, Lucia Sardo, Paride Benassai, and Roberta Rigano. It is also executive produced by Locke, her sister Attica Locke, Saldaña, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson, and Will Rowbotha. Directing duties will be split between Nzingha Stewart and Dennie Gordon.
