Several design duos have gone head-to-head on Battle on the Beach, but only a few have emerged victorious.

The HGTV competition series debuted in 2021 and follows teams of home renovators and designers as they transform identical beachside properties into desirable beach house rentals. The team that secures the highest value for their completed renovation earns bragging rights and takes home a $50,000 cash prize.

HGTV’s Ty Pennington, Alison Victoria, and Taniya Nayak served as the show’s mentors from Season 1 to Season 4, with stars such as Mike Holmes, Mina Starsiak Hawk, and Sarah and Bryan Baeumler serving as judges over the years.

Sarah joined Pennington as a mentor for Season 5, which premiered in June 2026, alongside newcomer Mika Kleinschmidt. Renovation Aloha‘s Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama also joined the series as judges.

The show’s Season 5 return came after Victoria alleged in July 2025 that the series had been canceled. Following the show’s Season 5 renewal news, Pennington exclusively told TV Insider, “I’ve been in the television industry for a long time. I just know when it comes to TV, nothing’s really canceled. I think that’s a big word. Sometimes, people are just re-evaluating what is doing well, what they know they want to see more of.”

The married couple from Texas, who worked with Nayak during Season 1, were crowned as the show’s first-ever winners in 2021. “All the ups and downs, leaving our kids and our business and family, and the days I thought, ‘I am not gonna make it…” Kerry said in a post-win confessional. “I want to take that $50,000 and expand our business.”

Just as she said after her win, the spouses used their winnings to grow their businesses, Kersh Design Company and Kersh Real Estate. They continue to share glimpses of their latest renovations with fans via Instagram.

Another husband and wife duo, Victoria’s team secured Season 2’s victory in 2022. “I’ve lost every competition show, until now, and I couldn’t be more proud to win it with Corey and Paige,” Victoria said of her teammates. “They deserved it.”

Like Kerry and David, Corey and Paige have continued renovating and designing homes through their company, Cyriously Living. They launched their very own luxury real estate brokerage, The Agency North Central Alberta, in 2024, and reunited with Battle on the Beach Season 2 judges Sarah and Bryan in March 2026.

I mean, we had a lot of fun,” Steve said after their big win. Pennington told the duo, “If you can survive this type of competition, this kind of deadline, this kind of budget, you can literally do anything.”

The Oklahoma business buddies have continued their work in the home renovation and design world, sharing their latest projects and career updates with fans via social media. Basnight, who runs the blog Handmade Haven, also tied the knot with her husband, Joshua Tate, in April 2026.

The self-described “underdogs” have racked up much more renovation and design experience in the years since their Battle on the Beach win, documenting their projects on social media and on their After Hours Farm blog. Sam has also continued her work as a photographer through her company, Samantha Leigh Studios. The couple welcomed their second child in November 2024.

Ty Pennington, Michelle Mueller, and Sydney Lorence, 'Battle on the Beach,' Season 5, Episode 6, HGTV, aired July 13, 2026.

Pennington told the pair, “I am so proud of you guys. You guys worked so hard.”

Like many of their fellow Battle on the Beach winners, Michelle and Sydney returned to their gigs as a realtor and DIY content creator, respectively, after the show. Sydney shared her latest renovation and design projects via social media and on her blog, DIY Squid.

I have watched (and enjoyed) every season of this show, and while it's true they are very short seasons, you'd think I'd remember at least one of the winning teams. I do not.
