The first photos and plot details for Jamie Reagan’s (Will Estes) Boston Blue debut are here. CBS shared the first look at the Blue Bloods reunion between Estes and Donnie Wahlberg on October 19. The episode, titled “Blood Diamonds,” airs on Friday, November 6.

As the Boston Blue co-creators, Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, previously told TV Insider, Jamie and big brother Danny Reagan get into an adventure when Jamie visits Boston in Season 2.

Jamie “visits his brother in Boston and as we are wont to do, we put him in some shenanigans,” Sonnier told us. Those shenanigans will include the investigation of a violent family feud that brings up personal struggles between the Reagan brothers, according to CBS.

“Jamie Reagan’s visit to Boston takes an unexpected turn when he and Danny are drawn into a diamond heist linked to a violent family feud, forcing the brothers to confront lingering tensions of their own,” the logline says. “Meanwhile, Mae faces a difficult case after swatting results in a man’s death, Lena investigates a series of suspicious deaths linked to one of Reverend Peters’ parishioners and Sarah and Seth encounter an unexpected hurdle while planning their wedding.”

“As of now, this is a one-off story with Jamie, but we were just so thrilled because Will is someone who we’ve long admired and wanted to work with, and we were trying to figure out what’s the right story to tell,” Margolis told TV Insider in our Boston Blue Season 2 preview. “So, we were thrilled he was willing to come play with us and we got a chance to revisit Jamie’s character and check in with where he’s been since our show started.”

“Will’s just such a cool dude and a really professional, lovely human,” he added. “So, it was really fun to get to know him.”

Wahlberg announced Estes’ Boston Blue role in August after fans spotted them filming in Boston. Vanessa Ray — who played Jamie’s wife and partner, Eddie Janko, on Blue Bloods — also visited the spinoff’s set this summer, but it wasn’t to film anything.
