‘Lucifer’ and ‘Rosewood’ Score Season 2 Renewals from Fox
Fox has handed out early renewals to freshman dramas, Lucifer and Rosewood for the 2016-2017 season. The Morris Chestnut-led Rosewood will have a 22-episode second season, while Lucifer is currently set for a 13-episode Season 2. (Both episode totals echo their Season 1 orders.)
“We knew we had something special with Lucifer, from the engaging performances of [stars] Tom [Ellis], Lauren [German] and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team,” said David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, in a statement. “With Rosewood, creator Todd Harthan has put a fresh, playful spin on the procedural format, infusing it with wit and warmth, while Morris, Jaina [Lee Ortiz] and the show’s gifted supporting cast have turned in fantastic performances. We look forward to two stand-out sophomore seasons from both series.”
Fox has handed out a number of early season renewals to its shows, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth, Scream Queens, Empire, Gotham, and a shortened final season of Bones making the cut.
Lucifer airs Mondays at 9/8 and Rosewood airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Fox.
