Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart Are Co-Hosting the 2016 MTV Movie Awards (VIDEO)
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart are teaming up again.
The duo, who costar in the upcoming action comedy movie Central Intelligence (in theaters June 17), announced today via video that they will be co-hosting the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For the first time ever, the telecast will be outdoors on the Warner Bros. Studios backlot in Burbank, CA. Oher performers and presenters have not been announced yet.

“It’s an honor to be hosting the MTV Movie Awards with a guy who’s not only one of the funniest guys on the planet, but who’s often mistaken as my twin, Kevin Hart,” said The Rock in a press release. “We live for our fans and promise to make this an epic, historic unforgettable night for them.” Added Kevin Hart, “I love hosting, it’s my thing. Dwayne and I are the perfect team for the epic 25th anniversary show. It’s going to go down.”

Fans will also play a big role in this year’s awards—audience members will get a chance to write and direct the official “2016 MTV Movie Awards” promo campaign with Johnson and Hart. At 2/1c tomorrow, details about the campaign will be broadcast simultaneously on Facebook Live, YouTube, Periscope, Meerkat and YouNow, and fans will get the chance to comment and tweet their ideas by using #movieawards. The ideas and footage will be collected for promos that will be released on digital and social platforms, with fan credit.
