Seann William Scott
Q&A
Maarten de Boer

There’s a new cop on the beat! Wesley Cole (Seann William Scott), a spirited officer fresh to the Los Angeles Police Department, joins by-the-book Det. Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) to fight crime on the Fox dramedy Lethal Weapon.

We interrogate Scott for more.

1. How would you describe Wesley?

He’s an ex-CIA international operative who’s seen a lot of difficult stuff in the past and never stayed in one place very long. He moves to Los Angeles to be close to his 12-year-old daughter, Maya [Shay Rudolph], since he hasn’t really been there for her.

2. What’s his relationship like with Maya’s mother, Natalie (Maggie Lawson)?

Her opinion was that he’s a great fling guy, but not a guy you’d want to settle down with because he’s always on the move. He’s around more now, so something could happen between them. I’d like for him to have a love interest!

3. Do Cole and Murtaugh get along?

They don’t really know each other that well. But danger always follows Cole, which isn’t great for Murtaugh. He’s like, “Can I just work with somebody safe?”
