A ‘Detroiters’ Rivalry, Finales of ‘Cloak & Dagger’ and ‘The Four’

A critical checklist of notable Thursday TV:
Detroiters (10:30/9:30c, Comedy Central): Think Mad Men with truly mad man-boys, and that’s the flavor of this wacky comedy series about the most aggressively inept ad pitchmen in Detroit or possibly anywhere. Best buds/co-enablers Sam Richardson (Veep) and Tim Robinson, as Sam and Tim (what else), get an unreality check when they realize their A-list rival, Doner Advertising, is going after their D-list clients. To fight back, they somehow steal the attention of a local auto magnate who’s come up with a revolution in car manufacturing. What happens next you’ll have to see for yourself.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger (8/7c, Freeform): New Orleans is in more of a tizzy than usual as the first season of the teen superhero fable comes to an end. (As with most Marvel properties that aren’t Inhumans, this has been renewed for a second season.) Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) decide to embrace their destiny as “The Divine Pairing” to save their beloved city.
Shooter (10/9, USA): Bob Lee (Ryan Phillippe) continues to dig deep into the conspiracy surrounding his father’s assassination. With Isaac’s (Omar Epps) help, he tracks down a former “dark lord” of the Pentagon, who’s now in a psychiatric hospital. Could anything be crazier than the truth?
Inside Thursday TV: A winner will be crowned on the two-hour second-season finale of Fox’s The Four: Battle for Stardom (8/7c). Will it be James, Leah, Sharaya J or Whitney?… More eyes will likely be tuned to NBC’s broadcast of the NFL Hall of Fame Game (8/7c) from Canton, Ohio, kicking off the preseason with the Chicago Bears taking on the Baltimore Ravens… Or if you prefer the action on the sidelines, a new season of CMT’s Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team (10/9c) gets underway, with contenders for the squad including a Miss America runner-up and a former competitive ice skater.
