ABC’s hit entrepreneurial reality show Shark Tank is returning, and they’re debuting a whole new group of guest judges in Season 10.

The show, which sees entrepreneurs present their ideas in hopes of being backed by “sharks” or investors, began in 2009. In 2018, the show is celebrating its landmark season by inviting former guest sharks and new guest sharks to celebrate.

Fans of the series will recognize former sharks Sarah Blakely, Bethenny Frankel, Rohan Oza, and Alex Rodriguez, who have appeared before. And now, they’ve announced that Charles Barkley, former contestant and now billionaire Jamie Siminoff, as well as Matt Higgins will take part in the new season’s panel as guest sharks.

Since most are familiar with basketball icon and entrepreneur Barkley, as well as former contestant Siminoff, we’re taking a closer look at Matt Higgins. Who is this shark? Continue reading to find out more about this lesser-known addition.

In a press release for the show, ABC reveals that Higgins is an operator, investor, and business builder who serves as CEO of RSE Ventures. The private firm “incubates and invests in companies across sports and entertainment, food and lifestyle, media and marketing, and technology.”

Higgins co-founded RSE with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross, who is considered a prominent private developer in the country. Together Higgins and Ross built what is considered the world’s largest privately-owned soccer tournament, International Champions Cup.

Higgins has helped build the leading restaurant software company RESY, as well as a drone-racing circuit known as Drone Racing League. He’s also involved with marketing guru Gary Vaynerchuk. His accomplishments speak for themselves in terms of Higgins’ business savvy.

Most recently, RSE has built a portfolio of “dynamic restaurant brands,” after partnering with Momofuku, Milk Bar, &pizza, and Bluestone Lane, and invested in cybersecurity with the acquisition of SkOUT.

At the beginning of his career Higgins was the youngest press secretary in New York City history, during which he helped manage the response to 9/11. He’s currently the vice chairman of the Miami Dolphins, in addition to all of his other current jobs.

Upon landing the opportunity, Higgins posted the following statement on his Twitter page: “I’m so excited and humbled to join @ABCSharkTank as a guest judge for Season 10! I’m obsessed with this show, and have watched every episode since the first one in 2009.”

This newbie will sit beside existing sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary as a guest when Shark Tank returns this fall.
