Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars fans will want to mark their calendars, as Penn Badgley and Shay Mitchell are officially headed back to the small screen!

The pair formerly known as Dan Humphrey and Emily Fields respectively, star alongside Elizabeth Lail (Once Upon a Time) and special guest star John Stamos in the new drama YOU, and Lifetime just announced the series’ premiere date.

The long-awaited project, helmed by producing powerhouses Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, kicks off Sunday, September 9, on the cable network. YOU focuses on “brilliant” bookstore manager Guinevere (Lail) who crosses paths with aspiring writer Joe (Badgley), and this initial crush soon turns into full-blown, dangerous obsession.

The series will take a hard look at the use of the internet and social media in today’s dating culture. The show is also written by Berlanti and Gamble, and is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name.

Preceding the YOU premiere on September 9 is the debut of the Lifetime original movie, The Bad Seed, starring Rob Lowe, who also executive produces and directs. The made-for-TV flick is an updated take on the 1956 psychological horror movie, a cult classic in its time.

Lowe plays a Type-A single dad who is blindsided by a shocking tragedy at daughter Emma’s (Mckenna Grace) school. Soon, he is “forced to question everything he thought he knew about his beloved daughter,” as it becomes clear Emma is somehow involved in the horrific incident.

In a nice send-up to the original flick, Patty McCormack—the youngest actor ever nominated for Best Actress in the original—plays the psychiatrist treating Emma.

Aside from these scripted premieres, Lifetime announced popular dating reality series Seven Year Switch’s move to the network from FYI for its third season. Also on the docket is a production deal with Queen Latifah for two new documentary specials, and another with Toni Braxton for her unscripted series, Raising Tourette’s and Seatbelt Psychic.
