Fox Developing Season-Long Thriller About a Haunted House

Brownsville

Things are getting spooky at Fox.

The network behind Sleepy Hollow is next developing the horror series Haunted. The drama, based loosely on the book The Demon of Brownsville Road, by Bob Cramner (who recounted his own experiences), follows the story of a military agent who partners with a demonologist (who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend).

Together, the characters look to help a family dealing with a demonic infestation in their home. The story would unfold over the course of an entire season.

According to Fox, “the believer vs. nonbeliever duo, by solving the mystery of the present, will solve the mystery of their damaged past.  At its core the series will explore the age-old question, ‘Is evil real?'”

Brent Bell will write and direct, as well as executive produce. Chris Morgan and Ainsley Davies are also executive producers. 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

Bell’s credits include the 2012 feature The Devil Inside. Next up, he’s behind the 2016 supernatural thriller The Boy. He has also sold the pilot Posthuman to USA Network.
