First Look: Mad Men’s Sal Turns Mayor on Scream

Bryan Batt trades Mad Men for a madman in Scream, MTV’s new summer series based on the movies of the same name. Pictured above in the July 7 episode, Batt plays Mayor Quinn Maddox, a politico with a dark secret, a wild daughter, and a sworn duty to stop the masked killer who is terrorizing the town of Lakewood—wherever Lakewood happens to be. “It’s like Springfield on The Simpsons,” laughs executive producer Jill Blotevogel. “You’re not really sure where it is!”

In our summer preview, Blotevogel also told TV Insider‘s Damian Holbrook why they show decided not to use the classic mask:

“As scary as the mask was when people first saw Scream nearly 20 years ago, it has become a parody of itself … Just as the Cylons were updated for [the remake of] Battlestar Galactica, our killer’s disguise has been updated.”
