What’s Worth Watching: MTV True Life Special Strives to Save Teen Marriages

True Life, “True Life: Save My Teen Marriage” (Monday, June 8, 11/10c, MTV)

What would it take to save a marriage? Would 30 days apart do the trick? What about a Hall Pass – an all-inclusive, no-strings-attached chance to have a tryst with someone else? Meet two couples who attempt to do both in this special hour-long episode of True Life. One couple, Rasheda and James, have been married for five years and have a son together. In addition to a month-long separation (they can’t even text!), and the Hall Pass lingering over their heads, these two have to figure out a co-parenting plan while they are apart, which may prove trickier than they think. The other duo, Kyle and Amanda, are just plain struggling. Still living in his parent’s house after five years of not-so-wedded-bliss, these two are ready to call it quits. Before either couple ends their rocky relationships, however, they’re going to be given a chance to live the life they may have passed on when they got hitched in their teenage years.
