‘You’re the Worst’ and ‘Better Things’ to Return in September
Critically acclaimed comedies You’re the Worst and Better Things return to the FX Networks lineup in September.
You’re the Worst, from creator/executive producer Stephen Falk, heads into its fourth season on Thursday, September 6 (10/9c), with a one-hour premiere on FXX. In the series’ first three seasons, Gretchen (Aya Cash) and Jimmy (Chris Geere) fought hard to maintain their relationship while dealing with her clinical depression and the death of his father. Season 4 finds the couple broken up and dating other people, but struggling to remain apart.
According to a release, You’re the Worst is, at its core, “the story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people make the best partners.”
The Pamela Adlon comedy, Better Things, about a single mother pounding the pavement as a working actress in Los Angeles, launches its second season on Thursday, September 14, at 10/9c on FX. Aldon directed all 10 episodes of the Louis C.K.-produced series. In its first season, Better Things nabbed a prestigious Peabody Award while charming fans and critics alike.
