Gotham, “The Anvil or the Hammer” (Monday, March 27, 8/7c, Fox)

You can tell it’s getting closer to the end of the season, because all sorts of hell has breaking loose on Fox’s pre-Batman hit. Last week, Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) took his first, bloody step toward becoming the Riddler, Fish (Jada Pinkett Smith) took what could be a very fatal shot escaping the Dollmaker’s island of misfit toys, and Barbara (Erin Richards) got a peek at Jason’s (Milo Ventimiglia) very Christian Grey room of pleasure and pain—and it seemed from her little smile in that final shot that she was kinda into it, right? Tonight, things get even wilder as a familiar Wayne Enterprises employee makes his debut, Jason, aka, the Ogre, ups his plan to use those closest to Jim as leverage, and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) unleashes his inner warlord against the mob after one of his enemies goes too far. Just remember, this is also the last episode before next week’s season finale and we know there’s at least one casualty on the way. Now might be the time to prepare yourselves to say goodbye to somebody who matters a bit more than the usual goons and goodfellas they kill off around here.
