The Americans, “Stingers” (Wednesday, April 1, 10/9c, FX)

It’ll be hard for the show to top last week’s gut-wrencher of a scene between Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and the old lady (Lois Smith) she force-suicided so Philip could plant a bug in the FBI’s mail robot, but this episode is a big one for daughter Paige (Holly Taylor). Elizabeth’s attempts to prepare her daughter to learn the truth of her parents’ profession have been fairly subtle, but Paige, unlike many a TV teen, is smart enough to know something is rotten in the state of the Jennings household, and tonight she demands answers.
