Syfy Renews ‘The Magicians’ for Season 3
Syfy just pulled a great day out its hat by announcing that The Magicians will be back for a third season.
The critically acclaimed, fantasy drama based on Lev Grossman’s novels has been killing it in the ratings and on social-media engagement (nearly double its first-season numbers), so the news isn’t incredibly shocking. But it is entirely exciting, as the season finale—airing next week—leaves Fillory and Brakebills University in a very unexpected state following Quentin (Jason Ralph) and company’s desperate campaign to save magic from dying off.
Season 3 is slated to premiere sometime in 2018 and the penultimate episode of Season 2 airs Wednesday night. Here’s a sneak peak of tonight’s episode. And, yes, that is Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) losing her shizz in an enchanted cage. Classic Alice.
