Adam DeVine Nabs Hosting Duties for 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards

This year's MTV Movie and TV Awards  show is going for the funny once again this year by announcing that comedian/actor Adam DeVine will serve as host.

DeVine, best known for roles in Pitch PerfectMike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and on Comedy Central's Workaholics, will host young Hollywood’s party of the year from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Funnyman Kevin Hart and action star Dwayne Johnson served as hosts of the 2016 ceremony. This year's nominees and categories celebrating the best on the big and small screen will be announced Thursday.

MTV Ditches Old Format, Launches New 'MTV Movie & TV Awards'

The new 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards' will air live on May 7.

“I’m so excited to host the ‘MTV Movie & TV Awards,’” said Devine in an MTV press release. “I have dreamed about it since I was a teenager. It was usually a dry dream, but I would be remiss if I didn’t admit that sometimes it was wet.”
