Castle, “Resurrection” (Monday, Feb. 9, 10/9c, ABC)

“We’ll Meet Again” is the haunting refrain in the first of a two-part episode in which two notorious fiends from Castle‘s history re-emerge: Dr. Kelly Neiman (Annie Wersching), the smugly sinister plastic surgeon with “ice water in her veins,” and Jerry Tyson (Michael Mosley), the diabolical “3XK” killer—he serves up victims in threes—who was presumed dead. Although by the rules of TV, if there’s no body, you can never rest easy.

Dr. Neiman’s gifts of transformation add bizarre layers of mystery to this suspenseful case, as Castle and Beckett (Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic) put aside the Nick-and-Nora banter for a week to seek elusive DNA evidence, hoping to prove that Tyson, who’s passing himself off as someone else, is indeed their longtime nemesis. The prospect of two serial killers working in tandem is so alarming that Capt. Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald) puts aside her usual reservations about Castle and lets him help with the investigation, which by the end of the hour gets disturbingly personal.
