Natalee Holloway’s mom, Beth Holloway, is front and center in the new Netflix docu-series Taken: Natalee Holloway. The three-part series documents Beth’s 18-year fight to find out what happened to her daughter, who went missing on a high school graduation trip to Aruba in 2005 (Joran van der Sloot finally confessed to killing the 18-year-old in 2023).

Beth was relentless in her quest to get justice for her daughter, while Natalee’s father, Dave Holloway, also dedicated years to the search for answers. However, the new docu-series is solely focused on Beth’s story, and Dave does not appear in it.

Beth and Dave divorced in 1993 when Natalee was just seven years old. Scroll down for a refresher on her relationship with Dave when she disappeared, as well as what Dave’s life is like today.

Did Natalee Holloway have a relationship with her dad?

Yes, Natalee did have a relationship with her dad.

In Beth’s memoir, she revealed that she had sole custody of Natalee and her brother following the divorce, noting that it was a “long arduous battle.” Beth married her second husband, George “Jug” Twitty, in 2000. She and her kids moved from Mississippi to Birmingham, Alabama, with Jug, while Dave and his second wife (more on that below) moved to Meridian, Mississippi.

“Prior to Natalee’s sixteenth birthday and obtaining her driver’s license, she and [her brother] had been coming to our home every other weekend and more frequently during their summer vacations from school,” Dave wrote in his 2006 memoir, per ABC News. “But, during Natalee’s senior year in high school, her visits were a bit less frequent due to her many extracurricular activities. So Robin and I made it our business to visit her and watch her dance at football games with her dance team, the Dorians.”

Dave also wrote that he and his wife “maintained a close, loving relationship with Natalee throughout her childhood and teenage years.”

He also reflected on when Natalee first asked him for permission to go to Aruba with her graduating class. “I was apprehensive about Natalee taking this type of trip, and I tried to talk her out of it,” Dave wrote, referencing the February 2005 discussion. “I did not like the idea of her traveling that far away with so many other students and so few chaperones.”

Dave took “a few days” to consider, but then let Natalee know he could not approve of the trip because “it was too extravagant” and not “appropriate.” Beth, however, “felt comfortable allowing Natalee to make the trip” because her stepbrother had gone to Aruba two years earlier and her cousins were also attending.

Did Natalee Holloway’s dad get remarried?

Yes, Dave married his second wife, Robin, in 1995, just two years after his split from Beth. Per posts on her Facebook page, they are still together today.

How many kids does Dave Holloway have?

In addition to Natalee, Dave has three children. He and Beth also share a son Matt, who was five years old when they divorced (two years younger than Natalee).

When Natalee went missing, Matt was 16. Now, he’s in his 30s and working as a pilot. As of 2023, he had two children, one of whom is a daughter named Rylee, who was born in 2014.

After marrying Robin, Dave welcomed two daughters, Brooke and Kaitlyn. Brooke graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2020, and Kaitlyn followed in 2026. Brooke has been married to Zachary Miller since 2024.

What is Dave Holloway doing now?

Dave currently works as an insurance agent for State Farm in Meridian, Mississippi. Per his website, he offers auto, homeowner, condo, renters, personal articles, business, life, and health insurance.
