What To Know

  • Several Full House cast members reunited at ’90s Con.
  • Scott Weinger, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber joked that Dave Coulier and John Stamos would be their secret weapons in a hypothetical fight.
  • They also dished on reuniting with other ’90s stars they haven’t seen in a long time.

With TV casts from Melrose Place to The Nanny reuniting at Hartford, CT’s recent ’90s Con event, it’s always fun to imagine tension in the air. However, should the Full House cast ever find themselves in a street fight, they know exactly who to call: Dave Coulier.

Speaking with TV Insider on the red carpet, Candace Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger considered how their television family would handle a hypothetical showdown with the other casts.

“Like a violent physical confrontation?” Weinger asked. Bure, who competed on Season 5 of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, was ready. “Put me on the front lines,” she volunteered.

Weinger joked, “Put the Navy SEAL on the front line, and then we send Dave Coulier to make them laugh themselves unconscious.” Apparently, the Tanner family’s best defense is a good punchline.

In a separate red carpet interview, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber had their own mischievous responses when asked what havoc they might unleash that weekend. “I plan on stealing a lot of cars tonight. A lot. Multiple ones. Jump right out of one into the next,” Sweetin joked. “I might also rob some of the other ’90s stars’ hotel rooms. Who knows? The night is young. I’ve only been here 12 hours. I haven’t had a chance to plot yet.”

Barber’s plans involved a certain castmate’s famous locks. “I’m going to touch John Stamos‘s hair, which is illegal in some states,” she teased. Sweetin promptly escalated things: “I’m going to touch his butt.”

“There we go. We’ve got it covered,” Barber responded.

Their actual plans, thankfully, sounded considerably friendlier. For Weinger, the convention’s appeal included having so many castmates together. “It definitely feels like it keeps building,” he said. “We’ve got John and Dave and Lori. We’ve got all the grown-ups. We’re still the kids.”

“We’re the young ones,” Bure added.

She was also enjoying encounters beyond the Full House family. “I saw Rachael Leigh Cook earlier this morning,” Bure shared. “She may have been here before, but it was very fun to bump into her.”

Sweetin had a reunion of her own with The Secret World of Alex Mack star Larisa Oleynik. “She and I haven’t seen each other in probably 20 years. We were good friends when we were young,” she said.

For Sweetin and Barber, the weekend also meant connecting with fans, including the listeners who contribute to their podcast. “We love our Fanneritos. They’re almost like co-producers because we don’t know anything about the show,” Barber said, adding, “They’re an integral part of the podcast.”

Sweetin agreed: “They write in and tell us things. They correct us. They give us a lot of leeway for our ignorance of the show.”

With so many fans and longtime friends in attendance, the cast of Full House simply had no time for that imaginary street fight they joked about earlier. There’s always next year!
