‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Loses $75,000 After Epic ‘Poop’ Fail

"Wheel of Fortune" contestant Merek Chang on October 28. 2026

Wheel of Fortune contestant lost out on taking home $75,000, but got host Ryan Seacrest to laugh with his wild guesses, that included the word “poop.”

Merek Chang, from Baldwin Park, California, played against Ameenah Montgomery, from Arlington, Texas, and Anthony Bivona, from Rocky Point, New York, on October 28. Bivona, a man whose friends call him Seacrest’s stunt double but older and more buff, solved one Fortune Frenzy. He was close to solving a few more, but was wrong on one letter. Seacrest begs to differ.

Montgomery, a wife who has three daughters and three sons, solved the first puzzle — “Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave.” She won a trip to Savannah, Georgia, making her total $13,400.

Chang, a man who claims Snoop Dogg gave him a king-sized candy bar one year for Halloween, solved the tongue twister “Which Witch Is Which?” He had $6,350.

During the next round, Chang rode the Express Wedge until he called a duplicate letter. This caused him to go Bankrupt. Bivona guessed two more letters and thought it was “Disappearing Art.” However, he was wrong. The turn eventually went back to Chang, who solved “Disappearing Act.” He won a trip to Glasgow, giving him the lead with $16,350.

Chang solved two Triple Toss-ups. Bivona solved one. Bivona also solved the final puzzle — “Life in the Spotlight” — after the contestants couldn’t figure out the first word.

This brought his total up to $13,500. Montgomery was not far behind him with $13,400. However, it was Chang who won the game with $20,350.

For the Bonus Round, Chang chose “Thing.” Wheel of Fortune gave him “R,S,T,L,N, and E.” Chang rounded out his puzzle with “C,M,P, and A.”

The puzzle then looked like “AM_S_N_   _ _ _P.” As the clock counted down, he guessed “Amusing Poop,” “Amusing Goop,” and “Amusing Loop.”The puzzle was “Amusing Quip.”

“Those were funny guesses,” Seacrest said with a laugh. However, no one was laughing when Chang found out there was $55,000 in the envelope. This would have given him $75,350.

“Amusing poop!” a Reddit user said with a laughing emoji.
