What is All’s Fair about?

A group of fierce, high-powered female divorce attorneys breaks away from a male-dominated Los Angeles law firm to launch their own powerhouse practice, Grant, Ronson & Greene. But while they’re experts at dismantling other people’s marriages, their personal lives are another story.

Allura Grant leads the charge, but her professional success is overshadowed by personal turmoil when her husband of five years, footballer Chase Munroe (Matthew Noszka), blindsides her with a divorce. What Allura doesn’t know is that Chase is secretly having an affair with Milan (Teyana Taylor), a junior staff member at her firm.

Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts) is a brilliant legal strategist who joined Allura in leaving their former firm to take a stand against the industry’s rampant sexism. But while she’s busy navigating high-stakes divorces for her wealthy clients, her own marriage begins to unravel, proving that even the best divorce attorneys aren’t immune to marital disaster.

Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash) is a tough, resourceful former Los Angeles police officer who serves as the firm’s chief private investigator. Whether she’s tracking down hidden assets, exposing affairs, or digging up scandalous secrets, Emerald knows how to find the dirt needed to break through ironclad prenups and secure hefty settlements for the firm’s clients.

What are some of their cases?

Some of the firm’s more outrageous cases include a billionaire tech mogul whose secret dominatrix sessions cost him $210 million, a wealthy woman (Judith Light) who walks away from her marriage with $40 million in jewelry, and a rock star who forces his wife to undergo excessive plastic surgery. One client dies by suicide after her husband leaves her millions in debt, while another wins enough money from her divorce to fund an entire science wing at Princeton University.

How does All’s Fair Season 1 end?

The trio initially want to make senior counsel Dina Standish (Glenn Close) a partner and put her name above the door, but she declines. Instead, Dina suggests bringing in Allura’s longtime rival, Carrington “Carr” Lane (Sarah Paulson), a chaos gremlin with a personal vendetta against Allura, hoping the offer would serve as an olive branch.

Unfortunately, Carr has no interest in making peace. She’s been having an affair with Allura’s estranged husband, Chase, although their relationship hits a rough patch when he accidentally calls out Allura’s name during an intimate moment. Meanwhile, Carr’s obsession with her rival takes an increasingly disturbing turn as she begins copying Allura’s appearance and impersonating her. When confronted about her behavior, Carr only becomes more unhinged.

By the finale, Carr’s revenge plot is in full swing. Determined to destroy Allura and her firm from within, she begins manipulating the partners and turning them against one another. Dina sees through the act and calls out Carr’s sociopathic behavior, making herself the next target.

Carr retaliates by fabricating text messages, planting evidence suggesting Dina is suffering from mental decline, and coercing testimony from Dina’s housekeeper. Her scheming ultimately leads to Dina’s arrest for the murder of Lloyd Walton (Lyriq Bent), the man who targeted and sexually abused Emerald Greene. The arrest tears the firm apart and leaves one major question hanging over the finale: Did Dina actually kill Lloyd?

Meanwhile, Liberty discovers that her fiancé, Reggie (O-T Fagbenle), has been lying about his spending and mounting debt, prompting her to call off their wedding and separate.

But Carr isn’t finished. The finale reveals that her ultimate endgame isn’t simply to destroy Allura. She intends to take down the entire firm, one partner at a time.
