Home Town Takeover premiered on HGTV back in 2021 and follows Erin and Ben as they revitalize small towns across the U.S. The show’s most recent season, set in Sebring, Florida, aired last year.
In June 2025, the couple revealed that the show’s fourth season would take place in Canada. One year later, it was announced that Renovation Island stars and Canadian natives Sarah and Bryan Baeumler would take over hosting duties for the show’s international outing.
Home Town Takeover Canada premieres on HGTV in Canada on Sunday, October 25, and will stream on the Canadian streaming service Citytv+. But can U.S. viewers tune in to the new season?
According to HGTV’s official website schedule, Home Town Takeover Canada is not set to air in the U.S. on October 25. HGTV hasn’t promoted the series on its primary social media accounts, while the Baeumlers’ and Citytv’s accounts have.

The series may air and become available to stream in the U.S. at a later date. HGTV has not yet confirmed whether or when Home Town Canada will air in the U.S.
Fans expressed hope on social media to see the series air on HGTV in the U.S. “Is it airing on HGTV in the States? I searched for it and can’t find it. I sure hope it is! Port Alberni is a great community in a beautiful part of the world,” one user commented underneath a Citytv Instagram post on Sunday, October 18.
Underneath another Citytv Instagram post on October 11, someone else wrote, “Hopefully it’s on HBO max just finished your The island continues in 2 days!!! Need more..keep designing.” Another said, “When will we be able to see it in the US? We miss you guys.” A different person posted, “Hope it will air in the US at some point. Love you two and hope to see a lot more of your beautiful work!”
In December 2025, Erin and Ben explained why they couldn’t return as hosts for the show’s latest outing. “Our production company is Canadian,” Erin shared in an interview with CinemaBlend at the time. “The people who make our show, they’re passionate about this Canadian takeover. But, because we are Americans, we are not legally allowed to host the show. We can only be in it as, like, guest stars.”
Ben added, “A Canadian broadcast show has to be hosted by Canadian talent. 90%; I think 90 was the number. I thought it was just a majority.”
