What To Know

  • Meri Brown opened up about a potential romance with her good friend Ron.
  • After her plural marriage with Kody Brown ended, Meri is taking her time before entering a new relationship.
  • Meri is looking for a future partner who is kind, communicative, and celebrates her.

Sister Wives star Meri Brown knows what she wants in a relationship, but she isn’t in a rush to make anything official.

On Sunday’s (October 18) episode of the TLC reality series, Meri opened up about her friendship with Ron, the man she met at a speed-dating event last year. She spoke about their “connection” but noted that, for now, they’re “comfortable in the friend zone.”

“I think he and I are both in a place in our lives after, like, long marriages that we’re just individually just trying to figure out, like, what we want,” Meri told friends while celebrating her birthday, per People. “He and I have become really, really good friends. It’s really cool.”

Meri was the first wife of polygamist Kody Brown, who went on to marry Janelle Brown, Christine Brown Woolley, and Robyn Brown. The plural marriage, which was documented on TLC’s Sister Wives, fell apart over the past few years after Christine, Meri, and Janelle separated from Kody.

Because of her previous marriage, Meri isn’t rushing into a new romantic relationship, even though she thinks she and Ron would “absolutely make a really cute couple.” She added, “We both have said that. We both know that we’re really cute together and we have a lot of fun together.”

Meri also admitted that when she first started dating Kody, she had no idea what she wanted from a relationship. Now, she is taking the time to figure out what she desires in a man. “I guess my type would be the kind of person who is open to conversation, who is kind,” she explained. “But as far as, like, looks? I don’t think that I really have a type.”

One thing she did highlight is that she wants a man who will celebrate her, especially on her birthday. Meri confessed that wasn’t always the case when she was married to Kody, noting that she shared a birthday with one of Robyn’s kids.

“I’ve had these things throughout my life that have just made me feel not as celebrated, and it’s just kind of been hard,” Meri said, adding that the next man in her life “better plan on celebrating me, like, every single birthday. Like, just make me feel like the most special person ever.”

And while she’s playing things slow with Ron at the moment, Meri did admit, “I do want to connect with somebody romantically. I want to find my person.”
