An HGTV star surprised fans with a major health update.

Eilyn Jimenez is best known to HGTV viewers as the co-host of the home renovation series Divided by Design. The show, which ran for one season from 2024 to 2025, followed Eilyn and her husband, Ray Jimenez, as their rival design firms competed to win high-end clients, creating dream home transformations along the way. The couple also appeared as judges on Season 6 of Rock the Block, and starred together on Netflix‘s Designing Miami.

In addition to continuing her work through her company, Sire Design, Eilyn has dealt with a major health issue. “What a year 36 was. It began with one of the deepest losses of my life – saying goodbye to [my dog] Aria on my birthday last year – and soon after, a cervical cancer diagnosis that changed the way I looked at life, time, and what truly matters,” she revealed in a September 28 Instagram post.

Eilyn noted that the past year made her grow “as a woman, a wife, a friend, and a leader,” adding, “It challenged me to look inward, take accountability, set boundaries, and become more intentional about the person I want to be. Through therapy, prayer, and a deeper relationship with God, I learned more about myself than I have in the last 36 years.”

Despite her health struggles, Eilyn noted that the last year came with many “beautiful moments,” such as working on “meaningful projects” and collaborating with her dream brands. “I traveled, celebrated, laughed, loved, and was reminded again and again of how much beauty life continues to offer, even after its most difficult moments,” she said.

Eilyn went on to share that the year ended on “such a beautiful high note,” as she “overcame” her cervical cancer. “I grew closer to God. I became more grounded in who I am, what I value, and how I want to move through this life,” she wrote. “Now, I stepped into chapter 37. Seven is a sacred number, and this chapter already feels full of purpose, restoration, and promise. The future feels incredibly bright, and I cannot wait to see what the next 20, 30, and 40 years have in store for me.”

Eilyn concluded the caption on an uplifting note, stating, “Here’s to 37 – and to everything still waiting for me. I truly believe the best is yet to come.”

Eilyn’s Instagram slideshow featured several photos from the past year, including a selfie she snapped while in a hospital bed. The TV personality did not specify details about her cancer diagnosis or treatment.

Fans flooded the post’s comments with messages of support, and Eilyn responded with her own. “I’ve been reading through every single one of your comments, and they brought tears to my eyes,” she wrote underneath the upload on Tuesday, September 29. “I felt so much love – not only from the people closest to me, but from people I’ve never even met. Every birthday wish, prayer, and kind word meant more than I can put into words. Thank you for taking a moment to share your kindness with me.”

She added, “The world is such a beautiful place when we choose to see the kindness in it – and to be kind to one another. You reminded me of that in the loveliest way. I’m so grateful for each of you and will carry your love with me into this next chapter.”
