‘GMA’s Lara Spencer Shares Snaps of Lookalike Daughter for Special Occasion

Lara Spencer shared rare social media posts about her daughter for a heartfelt reason.

The Good Morning America host is a mother of two, sharing her son, Duff, and daughter, Katharine, with her ex-husband, David Haffenreffer. While Spencer primarily uses her Instagram page to promote her projects and share her love of thrifting, she took to social media to share photos and videos of Katharine in celebration of her 22nd birthday.

“May all your wishes come true today and everyday baby,” Spencer captioned a Sunday, October 4, Instagram video of Katharine being surprised with not one, but two birthday cakes at a special dinner with family and friends. “Happy Birthday to my little girl/college senior. You are the sunshine of my life.”

Fans flooded the post’s comments with their own birthday messages for Katharine. “Happy double!! Wishing you a fantastic year ahead,” one person wrote. Another added, “Happy Birthday beautiful Kate!!” Someone else shared, “Happy Birthday! Lovely young lady!!”

A different person gushed, “Happy Birthday to your precious daughter, may all wishes come true.” A separate commenter stated, “Happy Birthday to your special girl enjoy every moment mine is 26 just became a nurse .. best to you all.”

Spencer followed up Katharine’s birthday celebration video with an Instagram slideshow featuring new and old pics of herself and her daughter. “Dress up w my favorite birthday girl over the years,” she wrote alongside the upload, the first slide of which featured a snap of the two dressed in Vanderbilt University merch. “Happy 22 nugget. Love you.”

Other photos included a throwback pic of the mother-daughter duo sporting matching pink sweaters, as well as more recent snaps of Spencer hugging Katharine.

“Here they come.. then off they go,” one person remarked in the comments. GMA‘s Tory Johnson pointed out the pair’s likeness, writing, “Twins! Happy birthday Kate!” Another fan added, “Happy birthday to your beautiful daughter! She is your mini.”

Someone else said, “Y’all could be sisters! Both beautiful.” A different commenter stated, “Happy Birthday! She is your mini me!” A separate person noted, “Lara your daughter is lovely just like you!!”

Back in August, Spencer got emotional via Instagram while reflecting on Katharine beginning her senior year of college. “Tomorrow I will drive this little girl to her senior year at her dream school. We leave at 5 am for 14 hours of amazing mother daughter time,” she wrote alongside a childhood photo of her Katharine. “I am so grateful for the opportunity and so lucky I have a job that has allowed me to be there for the games and plays and all the moments … I cherish every one of them. But my lord it goes by so fast.”

She continued, “It feels like slow motion when they are babies and you are over your head—and during the younger school years too. And then somewhere in high school it feels like-at least it did for me—that life hits the gas pedal and it all happens way too quickly. ‘The days are long but the years fly by.’ My mom used to say that and as usual she was right. Good luck to all the kids going back to school. Be safe; make good choices; enjoy every minute. Moms and Dads—.Big hugs to you. I feel your pain. Let’s all remember-we sid a good job.”
