Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is mourning the loss of her partner and father of her infant daughter, Ken Urker, who she reveals died from an overdose.

“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” Blanchard told People, noting that Urker was found dead in his bed at his home in Raceland, Louisiana. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”

Blanchard said she is in “disbelief” and “can’t think,” adding, “I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”

A source close to the family told the outlet that Urker was found dead at his home on Thursday, October 1, his 34th birthday. Deputies from the Lafourche Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at approximately 6:15 pm, where they found Urker dead upon arrival at the residence. An investigation into Urker’s death is ongoing.

“Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase,” Blanchard told People.

The couple first connected while Blanchard was serving a 10-year prison sentence for her role in the death of her mother, Dee Dee. Growing up, Blanchard was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a disorder where a parent or guardian either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick.

Urker proposed in October 2018, but the engagement was later called off, and eventually, the pair went their separate ways. Blanchard later married Ryan Anderson, but not long after her release from prison in December 2023, she filed for divorce. She rekindled her romance with Urker in April 2024 and, eight months later, they welcomed a daughter, Aurora.

Blanchard said that Urker faced an “unimaginable level of public scrutiny and relentless cyberbullying” throughout their relationship. “The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure,” she shared.

She continued, “I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment.”

The Lifetime reality star also said she wants their daughter to know her father for who he was as a person, not through the opinions from others online. “I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him,” Blanchard stated.

She concluded, “There are no words that can express the depth of this loss. I ask for privacy and compassion for our daughter, our families, and everyone grieving Ken during this incredibly painful time. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.”
