Starz

Tip Toe

Series Premiere

Alan Cumming takes a break from hosting The Traitors, starring opposite another of the U.K.’s best actors, David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), in a provocatively sobering five-part psychodrama series by Russell T. Davies (Queer as Folk) about neighbors whose cordiality soon curdles when homophobia rears its ugly head. Cumming is Leo, proprietor of a gay bar in suburban Manchester, where he lives alongside Clive (Morrissey), a tightly wound electrician with two grown sons, one a teenager who’s privately exploring his own sexuality. When Leo gets locked out of his house in his underwear and turns to Clive for help, the comically embarrassing incident has a dark and unsettling undercurrent of condescension and scorn. Boundaries are broken, and Leo has to face the reality that for all the advances in gay rights, being openly queer in 2026 is now a “political act,” and bigots no longer have to pretend to be tolerant. From the disturbing opening scene, it’s clear this situation isn’t going to end well.

Kill Jackie

Series Premiere

If the blunt title evokes Quentin Tarantino, that’s no accident. This exotically lurid eight-part thriller, airing weekly, goes over-the-top early and stays there. Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones stars in the title role of Jackie Price, a glamorous art dealer who’s distanced herself from her criminal past 20 years earlier as an international drug smuggler. When that past resurfaces in an especially violent manner, courtesy of a gang of international assassins known as The Seven Demons, Jackie goes on the run while plotting her own methods of payback against those who are trying to kill her.

The Wizard of Oz

Once upon a time, watching The Wizard of Oz on TV was an annual event, as families and friends gathered to watch the 1939 classic in once-a-year broadcasts from the late 1950s to the late 1990s. For the first time in nearly 30 years, Oz is back on broadcast TV in unedited form in a special presentation hosted by Collector’s Call‘s Lisa Whelchel and featuring interstitial interviews with experts, performers and designers with insights into this magical world. There’s never a wrong time to go “Over the Rainbow” with Judy Garland‘s Dorothy and her fantasy companions. The movie repeats Saturday (7/6c) as a Svengoolie special.
