‘MobLand’ Kills Off One of Harry’s Own in Explosive Confrontation With New Villain
Spoiler Alert
What To Know
- The latest episode of MobLand featured an explosive climax.
- Here’s who fell victim to the series’ new villain this time.
Things got deadly again in the latest installment of MobLand Season 2. Friday’s (October 2) installment, curiously titled “Bonzo Goes to Bitburg,” saw new villain Frankie (Johnny Flynn) make a major play against the Harrigans, with explosive results. Warning: The following post contains spoilers for MobLand Season 2 Episode 3.
At the start of the episode, Paul (Emmett J. Scanlan) wasted no time grieving for his violently slain nephew and instead set to work covering up any Harrigan family involvement in the melee.
Kevin (Paddy Considine), meanwhile, was in a state of panic over the abduction of Bella (Lara Pulver) by Frankie (Johnny Flynn), especially with the sight of so many bodies strewn throughout his house as a result of the invasion.
At first, he snapped at Harry Da Souza’s (Tom Hardy) newest team member, Dog (Mayor of Kingstown star Tobi Bamtefa). Soon, though, his energy was redirected towards making nice with daddy Conrad (Pierce Brosnan). Frankie used the also-captured Zosia (Jasmine Jobson) to send a message to Harry, arranging a meet with the Harrigans on their own turf. And while Frankie specifically demanded that Conrad be a part of it, he would not.
Meanwhile, Maeve (Helen Mirren) was busy bossing Eddie (Anson Boon) around and fruitlessly trying to pry him away from Gina (Teddie Allen) before suggesting he just take her with him to Ireland. She also worked to lawyer herself up for the inevitable legal fallout to come from the restaurant shooting in last week’s episode. Paul’s efforts to delete the CCTV footage did not go unnoticed by the police, so watch this space.
Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) had to assure Conrad that it was just pure coincidence that she was not present at the dinner where he and Maeve were attacked. Plus, once Sera was alerted to the upcoming family meeting by the same man who was working hard to seduce Jan (Joanne Froggatt) — successfully, by the way — she then demanded from Harry that she get a ticket to this ride as a bona fide Harrigan. Only, she accidentally showed more of her hand than she meant to by revealing Frankie’s name, which Harry did not know.
Once it was time for the big meet, the tension could be cut with a knife — but instead, it was a silly motor scooter that offered some unexpected levity. Despite his colorful entrance, though, Frankie’s visit was no laughing matter.

First, he assured Kevin that Bella was fine, but he had some critiques of Kevin’s level of concern, taunting Kevin about the fact that she’d been intimate with Conrad in the past. He then explained what he wanted in fanciful fashion, waxing poetic about King Conrad and the bountiful kingdom he used to run before he went “berserk.” Frankie pointed to the war on the Stevensons as a prime example of his mismanagement of this crime family. He then offered Harry, Sera, Kevin, and all the rest of them to stay on board with him as boss and shared a highly detailed plan about how the new infrastructure would work under his rule.
While this gave Kevin and Sera something to talk — er, bicker — about, they ultimately declined and sent Frankie on his way. His exit was not without a dustup, though; after Kevin threatened Frankie, he had Bella dropped off unscathed. Still, Frankie had one last surprise for his new nemeses: He left behind his helmet, and as poor Dog soon discovered, it was loaded with an explosive that leveled the place.
R.I.P. Dog. We barely knew ye. (But at least the actor’s short tenure on the show explains how he had time to do this and MOK Season 5!)
