Andy Cohen Reveals Exactly How Much He Pays His Babysitter – See Jeff Lewis’ Reaction

Still Flipping Out star Jeff Lewis appeared on Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM show on Monday (September 28) and called out the host for being “cheap” when it came to paying his babysitter.

The Bravo personalities were discussing babysitter rates when Cohen, who is a father of two young children, said he paid his 23-year-old babysitter $30 an hour for a two-hour shift.

“Oh, hmm. That sounds cheap to me. Especially from someone with your money,” Lewis responded, per The Daily Mail. “She was there for two hours, and you gave her sixty bucks? Did that even cover the cab?’

The Real Housewives producer added, “She was there for two hours and fifteen minutes, so I gave her $70.”

“I probably would’ve given her a hundred for two hours, two kids,” Lewis fired back before saying he pays his own babysitter $37 an hour to look after his daughter Monroe (9).

While Lewis might have thought Cohen was being “cheap,” many fans backed the $30-an-hour fee. “I think that’s the normal rate to be honest,” wrote one social media user.

“This is right in line, especially for the major cities that they live in,” another added.

“I live in CA, that’s the going rate, minimum wage in some areas start at 20.00, so we start them above that, and if you are watching my kids, yes 30-40 an hour sounds reasonable,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “For NYC for 2 kids for 2.5 hrs that’s ok, but not great.”

“Pretty normal rate to be honest. Especially for reliable and honest and trustworthy ones,” said another.

Cohen has a son and daughter, Benjamin (7) and Lucy (4), both of whom he welcomed via gestational surrogacy.

In a 2023 interview with his close friend Anderson Cooper, Cohen revealed that the song “Is That All There Is?” by Peggy Lee got him thinking about wanting kids.

“That’s where I was. I was approaching 50, and I heard that song in my head. I was like, ‘There’s gotta be a greater purpose for me. This is wonderful, and I absolutely love it. But there has to be a greater purpose,'” he said.

Cohen went on to say that parenting “has changed me in every way. I mean, I think my priorities have completely shifted. I think my sense of accomplishment has totally changed.”

“Even just getting your kids breakfast and getting them out to school, when I drop him off at school, I’m like, ‘You did it, dude! That was a rough two-and-a-half hours, you know?'” he added.

The host also said that being single didn’t hold him back from becoming a father. “I just thought, ‘I wanna do this. And I’m doing it. And I know it’s gonna be really hard, and I don’t know what that actually means,'” he admitted.

Cohen is now in a relationship with 42-year-old Kevin Sobieski, who works in portfolio operations at the investment firm TPG Capital.
