Jamie Miller is taking the internet by storm once again thanks to his viral song “Babydoll,” which has gained recognition on social media thanks to his collaboration videos with celebrities. This unexpected surge comes five years after he last went viral on TikTok with his song “Here’s Your Perfect.”

What some newer fans may not know is that Miller was once a contestant on The Voice UK and he’s been plugging away at a music career for years. Scroll down to learn more about him.

Who is Jamie Miller?

Between 2017 and 2020, Miller was posting acoustic song covers online. After Khloé Kardashian shared a video of one of his covers on her page, he signed a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2020. He eventually parted ways with Atlantic and signed with BMG, then Republic Records.

Miller has opened for acts including Jesse McCartney, Calum Scott, and Eric Nam. He’ll also be opening for a few dates on the Jonas Brothers‘ Burnin Up’ All Over Again tour this fall.

The singer’s first album, Long Way Home, was released in 2024. “Babydoll” is his first song to chart in the U.K., thanks to stars including Julianne Hough, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Meghan Trainor, and more participating in the social media dance trend Miller created.

What happened to Jamie Miller on The Voice UK?

In 2017, Miller was a contestant on the U.K. version of The Voice. Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale turned their chairs for his Blind Audition, and he chose the former as his coach. Miller was just 19 at the time.

In the Battle Rounds, he was up against Stacey Skeete and they sang “Perfect Strangers,” with Hudson choosing Miller as the winner. He was then one of her two artists to receive the most amount of public votes in the Live Knockouts, automatically advancing to the Top 12.

Miller ultimately finished the show in third place behind Mo Adeniran (winner) and Into the Ark (runner-up).

Is Jamie Miller bisexual?

Yes, Miller came out as bisexual in a 2021 TikTok video.

“I came out as bisexual last year. And that alone was one of the most challenging things to do,” he told Buzz magazine. “I found myself falling in love with a guy for the first time. And yeah, it was one of those situations where I was like – it is what it is.”

It ended up being that the guy was “with someone” else at the time, but Miller explained, “It taught me a side of myself that whether I fall in love with a girl or a guy, it’s opened a world of possibility and that you can fall for anybody if they make your heart skip a beat.”
