New ‘Power: Origins’ Teaser Takes Us Inside Ghost & Tommy’s Dangerous Early Days

The Power universe is going back to the beginning with Ghost (Spence Moore) and Tommy (Charlie Mann). Fresh off Power Book III: Raising Kanan‘s five-season run, STARZ is flashing forward (while still remaining a prequel) for Power: Origins.

The streamer has released a brand-new sneak peek of Power: Origins, giving us a glimpse into Ghost and Tommy’s past. In the footage, Ghost’s Grandma Charlayne (Tonya Pinkins) asks him how college is going.

Ghost’s “education” isn’t exactly one where you sit in a classroom. “I have some really good professors this semester,” he lies. His teacher? Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis).

Grandma Charlayne also has some concerns about Tommy and his influence. By this point, Ghost and Tommy are united as the ultimate young duo. “We’re a team. We’re always gonna be a team. Because we don’t win unless we win together,” Ghost says to Tommy. They’ve never been afraid to get their hands dirty.

“I hope you’re taking some history, too. ‘Cause you don’t know where you goin’ unless…” Grandma Charlayne says, to which Ghost finishes with, “You know where you been.”

Power: Origins is set to premiere in 2027 and will be the fifth entry into the Power universe. The prequel series will unpack Ghost and Tommy’s early days as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise in New York City. Moore and Mann are stepping into the roles made famous by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in the original Power series.

The duo will be joined by younger versions of Power characters, including Zuri Reed as Tasha and Camila Perez as Angela. In addition to Curtis reprising his role as Kanan, Leslie Grossman will return as Flossie, as well as Asjha Cooper as Jarita. The first season will consist of a whopping 18 episodes.
