‘Wheel of Fortune’: Ryan Seacrest Gets Flustered in Group Hug After Contestant Wins Car
They were excited! A Wheel of Fortune contestant and her friend nearly tackled host Ryan Seacrest into a hug after she won a car.
Tammy Innis, from Naperville, Illinois, played against Carmine Lucidi, from Long Island, New York, and Pam Edwards, from Cypress, Texas, on September 22. Innis, who feeds the multiple animals that visit her house every day, solved the first Toss-up.
Lucidi, who is an Eagle Scout with his own day in his hometown, solved the second Toss-up. Innis added to her total when she solved “Synonyms and Antonyms.” She put $17,640 in her bank after winning a trip to Curaçao.
The Crossword Puzzle in the category “The Piano” lit up yellow and pink again to celebrate Words With Friends Week. With only four letters left to solve, Edwards, a huge Lakers fan, solved “Ivory, Key, Ebony, Strings.” She obtained the Wild Card and put $8,000 in her bank.
Lucidi won a trip to Finland when he solved “Glinda and Elphaba.” This gave him $13,556.
Edwards won $4,000 during the Triple Toss-up. Innis put $2,000 more in her bank when she solved the third one.
Innis solved the final puzzle — “Mom’s Apple Pie” — for $6,000. This gave her a final total of $25,640.
Lucidi took home $13,556. Edwards finished with $12,000. Innis chose “Phrase” for her Bonus Round category.
Wheel of Fortune gave her “R,S,T,L,N, and E.” Innis rounded out the puzzle with “M,C,D, and A.”
The puzzle then looked like “M_ _A_S ARE _AC_ED.” As the clock counted down, the game show contestant solved “My Bags Are Packed.”
There was a GMC car in the envelope, worth $34,235. This gave her a total of $59,875.
When she won the car, Innis trapped Seacrest in a hug. Then, her friend came over and also joined in the hug. As the two women jumped up and down, Seacrest looked at the camera, raised his eyebrows, and laughed. When he pulled away from the hug, Seacrest dropped his envelope. He let the women continue to hug and scream as he laughed and picked it up.
