‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Are Saying This About Drew Carey as Show Returns
The Price Is Right began its milestone 55th season with a new look for host Drew Carey. When the host walked out from behind the stage, fans were quick to notice his new appearance.
Carey is celebrating his 20th season as a host, so maybe he figured it was time to change up his look a little bit. Along with wearing a tan suit and his iconic glasses, the host came out with no facial hair and a slimmer figure. He also appeared to have shorter, blonder hair.
In the summer of 2020, Carey appeared on the game show with a full-fledged beard. He told CBS This Morning at the time, “Because I’ve had more time for introspection, a lot of spiritual growth this summer. Part of me wanted to reflect it with a different look, so I decided to grow a beard. I liked it when it came out and kept it.”
Throughout the seasons after that, he had facial hair in different styles. Season 54 saw Carey with just a goatee on his chin. Now, he is clean-shaven.
“Drew looks so good. My son said: ‘He cut off his chin beard,'” a Facebook user wrote in a group. To that, others replied about Carey’s change in appearance.

“Yes! He looks like he lost some weight too,” another fan said.
“Looks like Drew lost some weight too. Good for him,” a fan wrote.
“I think he looks great too,” a third added.
“Nothing wrong with beards,” one fan said. One said they didn’t like his beard because it was never “neat and tidy.”
Another change the show made this season is that they are only having one model per episode. The Season 55 premiere featured OG model Rachel Reynolds. The other models that will appear this season are James O’Halloran, Devin Goda, Amber Lancaster, Alexis Gaube, and Manuela Arbeláez.
The first episode also had a contestant win $102,000 on The Lion’s Share, but had him banging his fist into the floor when he saw he could have won $212,000.
