‘Reasonable Doubt’ First Look: Corey Visits Jax in the Hospital as She Fights for Her Life in Season 4

Reasonable Doubt‘s long-awaited Season 4 premiere is nearly here, and in anticipation of the Onxy Collective series’ return to Hulu, we have an exclusive first look at what’s next for Jax (Emayatzy Corinealdi) after that finale cliffhanger left her fate uncertain.

As fans recall, Jax was on the receiving end of Monica’s (Brandee Evans) loaded gun. For those who may need reminding, Monica was the manager of grown child star Ozzie (Kyle Barry), and it was ultimately uncovered that she’d abused him. While Ozzie overdosed, Monica’s reputation was obliterated, and she sought revenge just as Jax was turning a professional corner by starting her own legal firm. And pal Corey Cash (Morris Chestnut) has stepped in to oversee the business in Jax’s absence as she remained in a coma after being shot.

In the sneak peek above, Corey promises Jax that he’ll continue to look after her business and delivers some words of encouragement in hopes that it will aid in her recovery.

“Jax, I don’t know if you can hear me or not, but I’m here, and I’m gonna keep the firm going as long as I can for you, because I don’t give a f**k what happened that day, or where you are right now; this is not the end of your story,” Corey says with conviction to Jax. “So, I need you to fight.”

As Corey’s kind words wash over Jax, it’s at that moment that her husband, Lewis (McKinley Freeman), rounds the corner, entering Jax’s hospital room with a pillow and coffee in hand. Despite past tensions, it seems like the men are ready to finally get along as Lewis thanks Corey for showing up.

“She’s hanging on,” Lewis points out, “and thank you for coming to help the firm, even though I know you’ve got your own s**t going on.”

While Corey reassures Lewis that he wouldn’t be anywhere else, Lewis can’t help but reiterate that he wants to make sure Jax has a firm to come back to after she recovers.
