Hoda Kotb Gets Quizzed by Sandra Bullock Over Potential New Romance

Sandra Bullock wants to play matchmaker for her pal Hoda Kotb.
Kotb returned to Today on Tuesday, September 8, to air her new interview with Bullock and her Practical Magic 2 co-star Nicole Kidman. During the conversation, Bullock proved she’s a viewer of the NBC morning show by bringing up comments Kotb made about her love life during a recent episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.
“Let me ask you something, Hoda. So, I was watching a morning program, oddly, the one that you’re on, and a question was posed to you about a flight you took,” Bullock stated. “And then, there was a little conversation and a little sparklet. Like, what happened?”
Bullock referred to Kotb’s recent appearance on the August 21 episode of Jenna & Sheinelle, during which she revealed that she made “the weirdest connection in the world” with a man she met on a plane.
“We were both crying. It was a strange — you know when have one of those moments that everything is firing on all cylinders? It was. And he kept saying, ‘Is this a dream? Is this a dream? Is this real?’ And then, we parted ways,” Kotb said at the time. “Fast forward, our company went to Cannes so we could talk about our company, and he was in the audience, randomly. And he goes, ‘Hi,’ and I said, ‘Hi.’ But then, it all kind of just went away.”

On Jenna & Sheinelle, Kotb confirmed that the mystery man was single and that the two had texted recently. (Kotb was previously married to Burzis Kanga and shares her two daughters, Haley and Hope, with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman.)
In response to Bullock’s interview question, Kotb said, “I was on a plane and I sat next to some guy, and he’s super, whatever.” Bullock interrupted, asking, “Handsome? Super handsome?”
Kotb continued, “We did exchange numbers and [said] bye, and then we each went [our separate ways]. So, I didn’t know if it was a connection, like, just a bond for a second or was it something [more]. I don’t know. I still don’t know.”
Kidman reacted to Kotb’s story by stating, “This is great!” Bullock continued to advocate for her Kotb’s love life by looking into the camera and mouthing, “Call her!” Bullock also lovingly described Kotb as “hot.”
Kotb burst out laughing at Bullock’s message to the mystery man. “You are so weird,” she quipped. Bullock jokingly replied, “Well, that’s important. If you look at someone, you go, ‘Am I gonna enjoy touching their very soft skin?’ You will enjoy it.”
Kotb first shared her interaction with the man on the plane during the July 9 episode of her YouTube series “Joy Rides.” She told her guest, Michelle Buteau, “I was actually on a flight the other day and sat next to somebody, and literally, for the whole flight, we had this weird connection, connect moment. I don’t know what it was exactly, but I walked out of there floating. I actually don’t know what it was, but it was something that I felt I was like, ‘I need more of whatever this is in my life.’”
