‘Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison Health Update After Emergency Bypass Surgery
Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame is currently in the hospital recovering from emergency bypass surgery. A spokesperson for Harrison gave an update on him.
“He went in for a simpler procedure, and they found he needed a bypass,” a rep told People. “He is resting comfortably and looking forward to a full recovery. He is grateful for the doctors and staff at the hospital and that his wife and family can be with him during this time.”
The spokesperson shared that the 61-year-old found out he needed the emergency surgery after he went to the hospital, thinking he just needed a simple stent procedure, but they discovered a more serious issue that required extensive surgery. He and his wife, Agripina “Angie” Polushkin, 42, got married in January in Las Vegas, Nevada. They do not have any children together.
It’s not clear what this means for the future of Pawn Stars, which follows the wild sales of the family store, the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. Season 24 premiered in January, with the most recent airing in March. It is unclear what the future holds for the show now.
Harrison typically negotiates prices with sellers, hoping to make some money off of their unique possessions. His surgery came just months after his son, Corey, was hospitalized in January after a motorcycle crash. His injuries caused him to miss his dad’s wedding. He had 11 breaks in his ribcage as well as bandages on his hands.
Corey was in a motorcycle crash again in 2014. He jumped off his bike to prevent a worse crash. The crash left him with a broken hand on his birthday. However, he attended his birthday party instead of going to the hospital and wound up needing eight screws and two plates in his hand.
Corey is Rick’s son from his first marriage to his wife, Kim. They also share a son, Adam. Harrison shares a son, Jake, with his second wife, Tracy. Outlets have reported that his kids are by his side. He also married Deanna Burditt in 2012. He gained three stepdaughters through the marriage, but the couple got divorced in 2020.
