‘GMA’s Lara Spencer Celebrates Wedding Anniversary On Romantic Italy Trip

Lara Spencer is celebrating a major relationship milestone amid her ongoing break from Good Morning America.

The morning show host has been absent from GMA for more than a week, sharing on Instagram that she and her husband, Rick McVey, are enjoying an end-of-summer vacation in Italy. The trip coincides with the couple’s wedding anniversary, and Spencer took to social media to commemorate the special occasion.

“Happy anniversary baby!!! 9-1-18,” she wrote alongside a sweet photo of herself and McVey posing in front of a picturesque ocean background.

Fans congratulated the couple in the post’s comments, with one user writing, “Wishing you guys the happiest anniversary!” Another added, “Gorgeous pic! Happy anniversary!” Someone else shared, “Happy anniversary to both of you!”

A different person posted, “Happy Anniversary. Love Taormina, it’s beautiful!” A separate commenter gushed, “Happy anniversary to a special couple.”

Spencer tied the knot with McVey in 2018. She was previously married to David Haffenreffer from 2000 to 2015. The exes share two kids: Katharine Paige Haffenreffer and Duff Haffenreffer.

In addition to her anniversary post, Spencer has shared more photos from her Italian getaway via Instagram. “Research trip,” she captioned a slideshow of photos on Saturday, August 29. The upload featured several snaps of Spencer and McVey exploring local sights and enjoying delicious food and drinks.

In a Sunday, August 30, post, Spencer showed off some of her and McVey’s vacation outfits. “Coming and going,” she wrote alongside the fashionable snaps. Spencer’s many looks included a white blouse and a palm tree-patterned skirt, as well as a black tank top with a mismatched-patterned skirt. McVey, for his part, sported a pop of color with a bright yellow shirt and light blue shorts.

“Oritgia looks good on u guys!” one fan commented underneath the post. Another said, “I want [to] go clothes shopping with you.” Someone else added, “Beautiful pics, love the fits so European!”

Spencer and McVey previously visited Italy to celebrate their third wedding anniversary in 2021. “3 years after the wedding….but worth the wait,” she captioned the August 2021 Instagram snap of the pair standing in a beautiful beachside town.
