Where Is John-Paul Miller After Mica Miller’s Death? Court Date Updates & More
Warning: The following post contains discussions of suicide.
John-Paul Miller is an important figure in Netflix’s new documentary, Death of the Pastor’s Wife. While he doesn’t speak out in the documentary series, his marriage to Mica Miller is put under a microscope.
In the lead-up to her death in 2024, Mica made shocking allegations about John-Paul and the control he had over her life. At one point, she alleged that John-Paul had her “involuntarily hospitalized” to steal her car and had “groomed” her for years. (John-Paul and Mica had a nearly two-decade age gap, and they met when she was 10 years old.)
Mica filed for separation just days before she was found dead on April 27, 2024, in Lumber River State Park, North Carolina. Her cause of death was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Where is John-Paul today? Turns out, his legal issues are far from over. Is he still a pastor? Who is his new wife? TV Insider has all the details about John-Paul’s life now, his arrest, and more.
Where is John-Paul Miller today?
Months after Mica died, Solid Rock Church, where John-Paul served as the pastor, shut down. However, just a few months later, in February 2025, The Sun News reported that John-Paul was now preaching at Mercy Church in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, area. His name is no longer on the church’s website, so it’s unclear if he’s still preaching there today.
On June 1, 2025, John-Paul married Suzie Skinner, who was a member of Solid Rock Church. When they initially met, John-Paul was married to Mica, and Suzie was married to Chris Skinner. Chris was a veteran who had been paralyzed from the neck down after a car crash. Chris died in September 2021 after being found unresponsive in his neighborhood pool.
Why was John-Paul Miller indicted?
In December 2025, John-Paul was indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts: One count of making false statements to federal investigators during the investigation into Mica’s death and one count of cyberstalking.
The indictment alleged that John-Paul sent “unwanted and harassing communications” to Mica from November 2022 until her death on April 27, 2024. The alleged behavior included “posting a nude photo of the victim online without her consent, causing tracking devices to be placed on her vehicle, and in one instance, contacting her over 50 times in a single day,” as well as interfering “with her finances and her daily activities and on one occasion damaged her vehicle tires.”
John-Paul has entered a plea of not guilty to the federal charges against him and has not been charged in connection with Mica’s death. If convicted, he faces up to 5 years in prison for cyberstalking, up to 2 years in prison for his false statements, and a fine of up to $250,000.
When is John-Paul Miller’s court date?
The indictment was issued in December 2025, and he was arraigned in January 2026. Since then, John-Paul’s court date has been delayed several times. “It was supposed to happen back in the spring. It got pushed in June, to August, and now it’s October,” director Michael Gasparro told Tudum.
John-Paul was scheduled to appear in court on August 25, but that pretrial conference was canceled just weeks before, per ABC15 News. According to court records, John-Paul was granted a continuance after a defense motion. The trial is now expected to take place during the October 2026 term of court.

It seems he preached alor about a wife's duties and how if a wife is not having sex with her husband that would make him seek it elsewhere...cult like sermons

Well church is a cult to begin with

H
Negative. A properly established church does not meet the definition of a cult.

And the Lord says to him, ‘Away from me, I knew you not.’

My thing is why do you want to go to a church that seems all he preached about is a women having sex with husbands and sex. And he is so creepy why mica or any woman would think he is even worth a hi is crazy because he is not good looking by no means. And I think John and the new wife now had something to do with it and especially the new wife needs to be investigated about her husband that drowned in that pool.

You do realize he preached on more topics than just that? The doc used those sermons because it related to the case and what JP was doing.
